About Us

Women’s Ministry caters to the holistic needs of women. Women are the backbone of the family, church and society and their well-being speaks immensely about the health of the church and society. This ministry serves, nurtures, equips and empowers women through fellowships, seminars, spiritual programs and focused group care giving.  Women’s ministry also participates actively in the home mission of the church.

The Beginning

The first worship place was a government quarter that was lying vacant. 14 women contributed an amount of Rs 5/- each to buy chairs for the empty house and thus began to use it as a church. The church was dedicated and inaugurated on the 14th of August 1963 by Kojensangba, Pastor of Chuchuyimpang Baptist Church.

Pioneers expressed the need of a women’s fellowship to strengthen the men’s fellowship and partner with them in the ministry of Christ. Thus, a group of 15 women gathered at Mr K. I. Wati Sanglir’s residence on 10th of June 1963 and consider the need for a fellowship for women and agreed to take further steps that officially led to the beginning of Women Ministry at Süngkomen. Thus, the first women’s service was conducted on the morning of 15th August 1963.

The Present

Women’s Ministry has come a long way crossing many milestones. The faith journey has deepened relationships with one another strengthening the bond of love and friendship. With the change in time, the area of need has increased. This ministry focuses on the growth of different aspects of women that covers the well-being of social, spiritual, physical, emotional and mental life.
